Automation can prevent discussions in tare room
The level of tare percentage or degree of defects quite often causes contentious discussions between grower and buyer. More uniform protocols and more accurate quality assessments through automation can prevent such discussions. How this can be done, manufacturer RMA would like to demonstrate at the upcoming Potato Demo Day in Westmaas and at Interpom in Kortrijk in the fall.

Farmer and Dairy: A robotic arm that turns cheeses
Schellach Cheese Farm in Middelburg has 85 dairy cows and processes 100 percent of the milk itself, says Robbie Mesu, one of the owners. “We have been making farmhouse cheese and buttermilk for almost forty years now. And recently also yogurt, custard and chocolate milk. Because the dairy farm we bought that from stopped producing. We started experimenting with our own pasteurizer. With custard and yoghurt. That yielded some great products. Then we also started doing the dairy ourselves. We put up a completely new building, for the farm store as well as the cheese storage with robotic arm.”
