Plate Freezer Installation

The plate freezer installation from RMA Techniek has been developed for picking up blocks from a plate freezer, after which the blocks are placed vertically on a discharge belt.

Plate freezers are divided into six different zones on a so-called transport cart where an industrial robot can move between. Two zones each can be closed by means of a sliding gate. In the closed zone, the robot installation can pick up the blocks from the plate freezer with the designed gripper and place them vertically on the discharge conveyor. The gripper will place 3 blocks on the belt, including the associated plastic separating strip.

The three blocks, including slats, are transported vertically up to the corner on the discharge conveyor. In the corner, the slats and blocks are separated from each other by means of a tilting mechanism. Slats have the free space to drop down in the appropriate transport trolleys, belonging to the relevant plate freezer. Frozen blocks are then turned horizontally with a mechanism and transported towards the sealing machine.
