Stone Separator
The stone separator of RMA Techniek BV is intended to separate stones and clods from the potatoes.
After a sample is added to the line by means of the crates tilter, the existing belt will transport the sample to the loose soil cleaner. The loose soil cleaner will release the sample in the stone separator.
The machine starts from the moment the sample is transported into the stone separator. Here, in a stainless steel container filled with water, a flow is created at the bottom of the container. This flow ensures that the potatoes that are lighter than stones are transported further on the large discharge belt over the taring line. The (heavier) stones will not be affected by the current and will simply sink and end up on the discharge belt of the stones. This discharge conveyor transports the stones outside the box and will unload them above a box. The sample without stones will be transported from the stone separator and continue on a cross conveyor to the washer.
