Salt Bath Compact
The machine has been developed to separate potatoes with a low dry matter content from potatoes with a high dry matter content.
The salt bath is a bath filled with water containing a certain amount of salt. This salinity is registered by a salt meter and can be kept at the correct value in this way. The potatoes will fall into the salt bath and will be transported out of the salt bath by means of the conveyor belt that rotates at the bottom of the salt bath.
Subsequently, the potatoes that float will end up in a container through the current. At the end of the cycle, the salt bath will empty halfway through a pneumatic valve. At the same time, the belt will be lifted out of the water so that the “floaters” can easily be picked up from the scoop. Therefore, no floating potatoes are left in the salt bath. These are scooped up by the conveyor belt and transported out of the salt bath.
The salt bath can also be skipped by draining the bath halfway. In this way, the conveyor belt runs dry, above the water level.
