Optical size sorter

The 3D camera can measure the length, width, and height of the potatoes on a smooth PVC belt. This allows the average length, square size, and number of potatoes to be displayed. Potatoes that meet the pre-entered specifications can be ejected with a spoon and transported separately.

It is important that the product passes under the camera on the belt in separate units. This can be achieved in various ways, such as with a dosing vibrator or a roller set.

With a dosing vibrator, the supply arrives on the conveyor belt in different tracks. The tracks ensure that the product lies side by side on the conveyor belt. Because the conveyor belt rotates faster than the vibrator transports the potatoes, the potatoes are also pulled apart lengthwise in this way.

With a roller set, the potatoes are mainly pulled apart lengthwise, but there is a greater chance that the potatoes will still lie against each other widthwise.
