Defects Sorter
A machine developed by RMA-Techniek to automatically classify potatoes using Deep Learning (AI).
The potatoes are automatically transported under a camera by means of a conveyor belt. A picture is taken of each potato that passes under the camera. These pictures are analysed by an AI network, which checks the potatoes at pixel level for different types of defects.
The screen displays the percentage of potatoes containing specific defects. In addition, there is an option to automatically eject potatoes using a flipper.
The AI network can recognise the following defects:
- Rot
- Green
- Insect damage
- Scab
- Other defects
The defects are determined for each customer, and the AI network is trained accordingly.
Design and features
- Fully constructed from 304 stainless steel (RVS 304).
- Dimensions are adapted to the required capacity.
- Fully custom-designed.
- Preferably supplied using a roller bed with adjustable speed.
- Option to display live images on a screen. A new image is displayed every 1 to 5 seconds.
- Equipped with rollers to rotate the potatoes, with adjustable speed.
- Option to eject potatoes using a flipper.
